Alberta's first grid-tied cogen TESS
SEPTEMBER 18 | 2007 | 11:00 AM
Richard Caldwell P.Eng, Special Projects Lead Engineer for Vital Engineering Corporation announced today that they have designed Alberta's first thermal energy storage system for a for-profit grid tied Cogeneration System. The waste heat from the Cogen will be stored in thermal chamber that uses readily available building materials and reuses an abundant amount of on-site materials for mass production. Advanced controls will closely monitor thermal properties while the TESS structure is subjected to several different operating parameters. Data obtained from each phase will be used for advancing future design concepts as well as proving financial models for hybrid geothermal cogeneration strategies.
